Objective of the foundation:

1. The Foundation aims to maintain the sailing heritage of the motor ship “de Hoop” and furthermore everything that is directly or indirectly related to this or may be conducive to this, all in the broadest sense of the word.
2. The foundation is not-for-profit and tries to achieve its goal by, among other things, raising funds, including by organizing activities; all other legal means that are conducive to the stated goal.

Main activities:

• Following laws and regulations to ensure safe sailing with the Hoop, now and in the future. Tangible results are the installation of an AIS (automatic identification system) and a second marine radio.
• The periodic supervision of the maintenance, chipping, scraping, sanding and painting of the Hoop. Beautifying and preserving.
• Supervising slope maintenance and carrying out periodic inspections of gas installations and fire extinguishers.
• Keeping the Community inland navigation certificate up to date, also known as a certificate of inspection (CVO). De Hoop is certified until 2023
